Did you know 8.3 million tons of plastic are discarded in the ocean per year? 15% of that lands on our beaches, creating a hazard and polluting the environment for creatures that live there.
The Parley Global Cleanup Network is a global alliance to end marine plastic pollution, a problem that continues to grow each year. We sometimes join and or collaborate with the Sentinel Ocean Alliance, the Parley representative in South Africa, to clean up the Cape Town Coast. Sentinel Ocean Alliance does their part not only to clean up the beaches of South Africa through Coastal Cleanups, but also provides environmental education for the youth of South Africa’s coastal communities. We’re proud to work alongside this organization doing amazing work for the coastlines, communities and the country.
